Can you share your journey on how you became the Head of Statutory Accounts, and what inspired you to pursue this specialisation in accountancy?
I fell into accountancy after leaving school to pursue a business and admin apprenticeship, which just happened to be at an accountancy practice in Cheltenham. This is where I was introduced to accountancy and decided it was the career for me! At that practice, I completed my AAT qualification and then joined another practice in Bristol where I completed my ACCA qualification and stayed for four years post qualification before joining ChadSan.
What do you enjoy most about your role at ChadSan?
Since joining ChadSan, I’ve really enjoyed developing the statutory accounts team to provide our clients with an efficient and pain-free process when it comes to filing statutory accounts.
How do you ensure effective communication and collaboration within your team and with other departments?
We utilise Teams a lot. We have regular scheduled catch-up meetings within the team to get everyone together, as well as using the video call facility to talk face-to-face when things need talking through. The instant messaging feature is used a lot by the team to reduce the number of emails we receive.
What’s the most memorable piece of advice you’ve ever received in your career?
Just keep going; nothing is gained from giving up.
If your team were to describe you in three words, what do you think they would say?
You’ll have to ask them!
